What is retina???

It is the part of the eye where an image of the objects you see is formed and those signals are transmitted to your brain through the optic nerve. It can be seen by an ophthalmologist using a lens or a photograph can be taken using a fundus camera machine.

Macula

It is an important part of the retina. It is the place where most of the vision gets focused especially the central vision. Pathology in this part will cause loss of most of the sight.

It is located on the ear side called the temporal side and in between the upper and lower main vessels of the retina. The center part of the macula is called the fovea.
